American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen, aka "The Boss" was born in New Jersey in 1949. He is best known as lead singer for the group Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. The band has had mega-success with the 70's and 80's hits, "Born To Run", "Born In The USA", "I'm On Fire" and "Dancing In The Dark". Springsteen's lyrics and songs highlight life as a working class American. No other rock band may eminate "American icon" then Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
In 2014 The band suffered a tragic loss with the death of Clarence Clemons who played tenor, baritone and soprano saxophones, backing vocals and percussion. Bruce said about Clarence, "Clarence lived a wonderful life. He carried within him a love of people that made them love him. He created a wondrous and extended family. He loved the saxophone, loved our fans and gave everything he had every night he stepped on stage."
Springsteen has sold more than 65 million albums in the United States and 120 million worldwide and he has earned numerous awards for his work, including 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Academy Award.
