English rock singer and songwriter Robert Plant is best known for being lead singer of arguably one of the greatest rock bands in history. Robert Plant joined the "The New Yarbirds" in 1968 which became known in history as Led Zepplin. Led Zepplin is suggested to be the catalyst for the heavy metal genre (Although Robert Plant would disagree with the majority of the songs being acoustic.) Led Zepplin, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bohnam plowed through the 70's with a plethora of timeless hits and "Stairway To Heaven" became an anthem to our generation.
After a hugely successful career, Led Zeppelin split up in 1980 (following the death of John Bonham). Robert Plant pursued a solo career with hits like "Big Log", "In the Mood", "Little by Little" and "Tall Cool One". Remakes of "Sea Of Love" and "Rockin' at Midnight" were both hits as a collaboration with With Jimmy Page in The Honeydrippers.
